Manitoba REALTORS® have been quietly contributing to the lives of Manitobans for many, many years. Below is a list of just some of the charitable events held over the past 24 months. Some of the photographs below link to more information.
The 2008 Rick Hansen Wheels in Motion event took place on Sunday, June 8th. The event was a 2K walk/wheel in addition to the Wheelchair Challenge. The event raised funds to help improve the quality of life of people living with spinal cord injury, while providing a better understanding of what it is like to navigate through life in a wheelchair. Thank you to all that participated.

For the third consecutive year the REALTORS Care® Committee served Easter meals on Good Friday, March 21, 2008, to the patrons of Siloam Mission in Winnipeg.
The Royal Roar Comedy Fundraiser - The Royal LePage offices of Winnipeg would like to thank everyone who supported this event held on October 4, 2007 and raised $8,000. for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. All funds were donated to Osborne House - a safe place for woman and children.

FISHING TOURNAMENT - A favorite REALTOR®
pastime was resurrected on September 19th in Selkirk Park for a day of fishing on the river. All proceeds raised from the tournament went to
the MREA Shelter Foundation. Major prizes were awarded based on hidden weights, so anyone could win!
The Road to Rehab cyclists took up the challenge
to raise funds for Tyson who needed a special
wheelchair and seating system to meet his mobility,
circulation and breathing needs. They cycled in the
Boissevain area on August 10th and 11th, 2007. Thanks to Wes and his supporters, Tyson will be starting school with a new $6500.00 chair.
The Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA) hosted its inaugural Charity Golf Classic at Glendale Golf and Country Club and raised $11,600 for a new MREA Shelter Foundation dedicated to affordable housing and homelessness initiatives.
The Mass Synergy Team from Goodfellow & Goodfellow Real Estate. Money raised by the Super Cities WALK for MS supports promising MS research into the cause and cure of this challenging disease. It also funds the many programs and services the MS Society offers Manitobans living with MS.
The Manitoba Real Estate Association Shelter Foundation and Realtors Care, stepped up to the plate on Good Friday, dishing out a magnificent feast for those less fortunate of our "City" who are living out on the streets; out homeless members of society.
Siloam Mission's Board of Directors and the Manitoba Real Estate Association held a Gala dinner November 3, 2006 to celebrate 5 years of John Mohan's leadership. John is responsible for an average growth rate of 450% per year and the poor and the homeless are glad he has.
At the ROYAL LePAGE March 2nd awards evening they gave a cheque to Osborne House for $11,232.00 which represented moneys raised last year from a combo of events Fashion Show and amounts that individuals had deducted off every deal towards our Shelter foundation).
Re/Max sales associates in Winnipeg raised $150,000 in 2007, bringing their total donations since 1992 to over $1,000,000. These funds are raised through the "Miracle Home" donations, an annual golf tournament and many individual fundraising events. The monies raised go directly to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba toward pediatric research and much needed equipment for the Winnipeg Children's Hospital.
The Winnipeg Real Estate Board established the Citizens Hall of Fame in Assiniboine Park in 1986. Some 30 sculptures honour Winnipegers from virtually every walk of life who have made extraordinary contributions to their community. Those honoured include politicians, businessmen, artists, educators and ground-breaking research scientists.
The WREB is a major sponsor of the Winnipeg in Bloom, Flower Power Contest and presents “The Curb Appeal Award”. The Winnipeg in Bloom contest is open to homeowners, schools, churches, residential complexes, business and community groups. The contest encourages friendly neighbourhood competition between property owners in their appropriate categories.

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. June 9 11/06. Over 1300 people of all ages participated in a 60 km. walk through the streets of the city and together raised a record setting amount of $3.2 million.

REALTOR® Members and Staff of the MREA enjoyed a very festive St. Patty’s day fundraising dinner in support of Siloam Mission who were raising funds for the development of Hannah’s Place Emergency Shelter.
Realtors with Century 21 Bachman and Associates are
“in the business of making dreams come true”. By teaming up with Habitat for Humanity, the real estate agents are reaching
out to a low-income family and making their wish for home
ownership a reality.
Siloam Mission, a homeless shelter in the core of downtown Winnipeg, was hopping Good Friday with over 30 REALTOR® Members, staff and family members of the Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA). They served up over 500 meals to Winnipeg's less fortunate.

REALTORS® Care teamed up with Siloam Mission for a second successful event. Our Summer Sizzler took place on Saturday June 24th, REALTORS® Care volunteers were in attendance to serve up a traditional summer BBQ.
